There are so many things to say about Lighthouse Baptist Church that contribute to making it special, that it is honestly hard to explain. One preacher stated "this place is electric" and another stated that it reminded him of "a bee hive." We believe what makes our church extraordinary, is our Lord's unique hand of blessing upon this place. A spiritually Enriching Environment
Lighthouse College has been designed not only for academic excellence, but to be a place where conservative Christian young people will have their faith validated in the classroom, in chapel, in the dormitories, and more. Our faculty are committed to Christ and to our students, to help them mature spiritually as well as professionally. Our campus will be a spiritually safe place, and our faculty will pray with, counsel, and engage our students to make and keep Christ in the center of their lives, regardless of the career path that they are on.
A Community with Much To Offer
Ashtabula Ohio is a small town that has many advantages. It is located on the shores of Lake Erie and is a deep water dock for ships from all over the world. From the local coffee shop, Squire Bakery, Marrianne's Chocolates, restaurants and more, located within two blocks of our campus, to the annual Grape Jamboree and Covered Bridge Festival, to our local beachfront parks... there is much to do. Ashtabula is known for it's fishing, it's heritage (with the underground railroad... the great train wreck involving the hymn writer P.P. Bliss, etc.), and certainly it's snow! It is a great place for winter sports.

A Small But Cutting Edge Program
While we are a new college and do not have a glorious and overwhelmingly expansive college campus with all of the amenities that some can offer, Lighthouse College does have some very - up to date qualities. For example, we will be utilizing a very special library service. VLS (Virtual Library Services), which will allow our students 24 hr. access multiple college level librarians, and to a massive virtual library that they otherwise would not have with only a traditional college library as well as, an added ProQuest subscription for some programs that is tailored specifically for that program with targeted relevant resources. In addition to this, our campus will regularly host special lectures/concerts/programs, with successful Christian leaders from different genres, that will give our students special insights, connections and motivation.
A Supportive Church Family
Our Lighthouse Baptist Church family will be fully engaged with our college students. Each of our students will have an "adoptive" church family that will take them under their wing by having them over for meals, checking to make sure that they are doing well, including them in family activities (on a voluntary basis of course), take them shopping, and otherwise attempting to be an encouragement in whatever ways that they can.

Lighthouse College is a conservative Christian college in every way. Those who choose to come here as students, will find that their fellow students have the same mindset about their walk with God. Strong bonds will be formed with other students as you study, serve, pray, eat, play, and live together, while you pursue your professional degree. Many of these friendships will last forever.
